Profile: Gina Moon
Sentence: 6 years for fraud
Background: Gina grew up in Moscow, where she enjoyed a highly privileged background. She was highly educated and graduated from Moscow University with a degree in Statistical Mathematics. Upon graduation she was employed by a British bank and moved to Canary Wharf, East London where her high income provided her with a penthouse riverside apartment. After one year in employment Gina and a male colleague masterminded a plan in which the Bank’s main computer would transfer funds from shareholders into their private bank accounts. This worked well for a while, but Gina’s male colleague became greedy and started to raise the random transfers. The larger sums were noticed by the bank and after an investigation both were arrested for fraud. Inside prison, Gina is thought well thought of by the other prisoners. However she has a stubborn side to her and does not necessarily take well to being pushed around by either the guard’s or the matron, and as such is punished for her disobedience. How will Gina choose to survive inside?
